The Baku European Games 2015 required an experienced team to handle the co-ordination and rollout of the event branding at all competition and non-competition venues. Designwerk were hired to undertake this fundamental and crucial role in making the Baku Games brand come alive at the venues.
A team of 17 project managers, cluster managers, venue delivery managers and directional wayfinding experts carried out the work over a period of 9 months. The Games comprised 30 different sports, spread across 4 clusters of venues including the iconic Olympic Stadium, the elegant Baku Aquatics Centre, dynamic Velopark and the impressive Heydar Aliyev Arena. Designwerk’s team were at the heart of this major look and feel project, dealing exclusively with the local operating committee, design teams, and a countless number of key local and international suppliers.
The result was a Games that communicated the brand successfully across all media, and has had compliments from broadcasters, sponsors, press, the organisers, and the fans themselves.
