Chelsea FC wanted to overhaul and elevate their club museum, to make it one of Europe’s greatest football museums.
Working closely with the Museum team, Designwerk created a clear strategy to tell the legendary story of Chelsea FC. The strategy heroes the clubs prize possessions to create engaging new displays and memorable experiences.
Showcasing a history of triumph.
The new trophy room aimed to make Chelsea FC’s silverware the highlight of the museum. The light box plinths made the trophies shine against the monochromatic background, creating the perfect photo opportunities for visitors.
Blue is the colour
A journey through history.
To celebrate 50 years since Chelsea’s 1970 FA Cup victory, Designwerk were tasked with creating a new shirt area. Bookended by the original 1970 FA Cup final shirt and a special one-off anniversary shirt for 2020 FA Cup, the display acted as a visual timeline of the Chelsea FC home shirt.
Creating an impact
Celebrating a legendary legacy.
We created a new Frank Lampard display that was focused around a giant number 8 made up of match worn boots from throughout Lampard’s illustrious Chelsea career.
Gamifying the experience
A chance become a Champion.
We conceptualised and built a new and improved shooting gallery. We looked to create an emotional hook that gave fans the chance to recreate penalties from Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League victory in Munich.
